Why subscribe?
Because you want friendly, inclusive negotiation advice from an experienced lawyer and facilitator who has served on nonprofit boards and advised corporations — and knows all the ways organizations can steamroll people.
I originally trained at the Harvard Law Program on Negotiation, but the advice didn’t always resonate with me. It took decades for me to figure out why. It’s because negotiation is taught by people accustomed to power. When they walk into a room, people turn to listen to them. The rest of us have a different experience. As a short brown woman, I walk into a room and people assume I’m there to serve them a beverage.
My negotiation approach is based on mutual respect and collaborative problem-solving, not power games. It works especially well for those of us who can’t rely on being taken seriously, who are uncomfortable with conflict, or who have marginalized identities. We can all be effective negotiators without changing who we are.
I’ll send you monthly newsletters, each one containing a negotiation tip. Subscribers can send in their questions to be answered in the newsletter.
Newsletter subscriptions are free and I will never pressure you to pay for them.
